Its funny, I always wear these red wing steel toe boots and long pants when I'm operating my tractor. Even when it's 100 degrees out. The other day I cut the grass. Got off the tractor. Came inside to take my boots off and saw old roofing nails stuck in the bottom of my boots. I never felt the nails stuck in the bottom of the boots. Those boots saved my feet from injury. We just had our roof replaced and they ran a magnetic roller in the yard but I guess they missed some.

What did you end up going with? Considering the johnny bucket jr but curious as looks like here you were considering the JD shovel instead

I rented this BX23 for only $200 a day from a rental place in my neighborhood where I live. Even if I rent it 5 times a year for the next 20 years, I think I'm ahead of the ball game because its always a new machine they have for rent, they do the maintenance on it, and they store it so it almost makes a lot of sense to rent and not own.

Re: Johnny Bucket on my John Deere X590 review

Hey Ken,

I know this is a super old post but its the only one I can find that actually mentions digging with the JB Jr. I'm looking at buying a New X590 or a used X750. The only video I've seen of a Johnny Bucket digging was a JB Sr on a X700, the digging depth of the video would be plenty for my needs but I'm curious if the JB Jr can handle that as well. I would really rather have the X500 for financial and warranty reasons, but if it won't be able to do the job then theres no point.
