What are implement bushings used for AND canít attach top hook of quick hitch

Two things- why are bushings necessary for cat 1 brush hog, blade and tiller? What do they do?

Also having helluva time attaching the top hook to the top of these implements. The hook wonít fit into the top implement. I have to remove the pin, position the hook then reinstall the pin which is not good. Ideas?

Hook? Do you have some sort of quick attach system? A standard Cat 1 3 point hitch top link uses a standard pin with a lynch pin in the end to keep it in place.

Bushings are usually used when the tractor is a higher category than the implement, like cat 0 implement on a Cat 1 tractor or a Cat 1 implement on a Cat 2 tractor. A bushing is used in those cases so that the smaller pins needed to fit through the holes on the lower Category implement will not be loose in the corresponding larger holes on the higher category tractor.

Re: What are implement bushings used for AND canít attach top hook of quick hitch

Not sure if pic will load since using ipad but yes I have a quick attach on back of tractor and have a tough time lining up the brush hog, rear blade and tiller. Understand level ground etc but each implement has slightly different design to attach the top ďhookĒ of the quick attach device. Can get the two lowers matched up fairly easily.
Pic is not mine but looks to be same size tractor and brush hog.
Thanks for the reply.

I know with mine, for each of my implements I have to turn my top link in or out to change the angle to match the implements.

I also have to readjust the height of that top hook for different implements. Mine is adjustable with pins.

And of coarse, sometimes you need to use bushings to get the correct diameter to keep the pins tight in the hooks.

Then once I hook up to the implement, I have to readjust the top link to whatever angle I need it at for the work tool I put on.
