Yes I saw that! Nice. Lifetime guarantee for sure.
But it's too much imperial sizes to pull that easily this side of the pond. Axle and bearings not cheap. I could metricalise it though.
But I have kept my eyes on mine so the axle isn't worn much at all and I think I can do with fine with a set of new busings. I just hit it with grease regularly.
I'm going to take the measurements to the lokal workshop and have him make them in bronze.

If it was metric I could have spent 17 dollars at the nearest 'Wall Mart' and have it set up like yours. That wound have been nicer..

Thanks for having the parts list available for my two stage, I will be referring to them often. It helped me confirm the idler pulley setup off the PTO when I had to repair it.

Re: FORD LGT 42" Single & Dual stage Snow Thrower info

I have to see if I can figure out how to hook up my 2 stage blower to my Ford 100. I am pretty sure I am missing some pieces, but I have no idea what I am missing.

Re: FORD LGT 42" Single & Dual stage Snow Thrower info

Folks,

I found this site matching attachments serial numbers with tractor models:

http://www.yourtractorforum.com/showthread.php?tid=21

According to the link above, the blower for 10 and 16HP LGT's is 09JC9895 42" 2-STAGE SNOW THROWER - 10 & 16HP LGT ONLY (1/77-12/83). There is no number for blowers for 125's, 145's...What makes them different?

Then, I found this:

http://hagerstownmartinsburg.ebaycla...r/?ad=30329489

I bought it...I paid them with the reimbursement condition of going to check it out...The serial is 09JC9795 575U. Does that number rings a bell? Can anyone help me check if this is the blower that fits my LGT 125?

I am using the parts list and diagram in this thread...part ID # 7..that long bracket...does that come with the blower? is that separate?

Thanks in advanced folks..

Carco.

That MTF address is general and not thread specific so could not see what you saw.

I would believe the "10 and 16" is a typo and should read "10 to 16" as the only rear differences there are in the series is "manual lift vs hyd lift" and although not hp specific, the gear trans frame and the hydro frame are slightly different in width at the rear.

I cannot see the diag. but if that long bracket is the one that runs under the belly of the tractor, then yes you need it.

Re: FORD LGT 42" Single & Dual stage Snow Thrower info

Thank you Larry...is that bracket part of the blower? Or a separate item? That is what I thought. ..that it was a typo...so if the 09jc9895 is the 2 stage, then what I found (09jc9795 ) could be the single stage pn for 125-165 tractors...how do you call that bracket? Now I have to search for it ..

Thanks again.

Re: FORD LGT 42" Single & Dual stage Snow Thrower info

Carco, without the mounting/attaching/lifting brackets, that blower, be it single or 2 stage is pretty much just a paper weight.

There is also the shute remote linkage as well. The odds on someone wanting to sell the mountings without the blower itself are probably pretty slim. You need the complete package or a long time to search out parts.

I would search old threads for pics or even a PDF manual

Re: FORD LGT 42" Single & Dual stage Snow Thrower info

I will chime in now that I am home from work. The blower mounting does not look similar to the one I have in the shop, it looks a bit off. For one, yes the long bracket that runs under the tractor belly is a main piece of the puzzle and as Larry mentioned will turn it into a paper weight if this was the correct blower. The handle that controls the chute can be made out of round rod but you are also missing the large lift assist springs from the front of the blower. My opinion is that it is for an older tractor. Pics of the front drive shaft side with mounts and springs

And a side view of the mounts and lower bracket and close up

Re: FORD LGT 42" Single & Dual stage Snow Thrower info

My first look at that blower... I think it was a blower that would have fit your tractor before the grim reaper came calling...
Many parts missing for the attachment to your tractors front end...
The front pulley on that blower is supposed to fit under your hood directly below the front pto, and the arms from the blower are supposed to hook up to pins in the frame on your tractor... you might not have the pins on your frame, On newer closed sided they were large bolts that went thru either of the 2 sets of holes drilled thru your frame basicly above the front axle.
You are also missing the long arm that runs from the bottom of the blower back to a hitch point basically under the seat of your tractor. Looks like someone hacked this one up and added a bunch including whatever those lengths of chain are for...
Certainly this one would require a lot of work.

Plus the bearing on the input shaft looks about ready to fall out...

see this link for more details on the bearing...

Re: FORD LGT 42" Single & Dual stage Snow Thrower info

I had a look at the blower sitting at the back of my shop picked up with my Jake and the mounting is not the same as what is in the picture. They differ greatly and really, what is with the chain? Get your money back fast!

Re: FORD LGT 42" Single & Dual stage Snow Thrower info

Looking at it further, it looks like they put an extension on the drive pulley and made it larger, probably to allow an underpowered machine to spin the blower?
I would definitly think that this blower has been hotrodded to fit something completely different from an LGT Ford.
