Broken wires LT1045

I was cutting the grass, and all of a sudden it seemed like someone took the key out of the ignition. Then I looked down, and saw 2 wires that had been cut or pulled off of something. The wires came out of a wiring harness near the starter. From the end of the harness to the ends of the wires where they were cut are just about 2 feet long, 1 light green and 1 blue. I took the shroud off, but I can't see where they were connected before being pulled off/cut. Does anyone have an idea where these 2 wires should be going? Any help would be more than appreciated.

Re: Broken wires LT1045

I looked @ my LT1042. Might not be the same. I have the Kohler Courage 19 hp.

I looked @ mine. The blue wire goes into a 2 wire connector that goes from the loom to the PTO thru a hole in the frame. That connector also has a white wire, not green. Those wires trace back to the PTO switch on the dash. I did find a green wire behind the air cleaner box. It's located on the side closest to the seat. It goes to ground.

I know if I leave the PTO pulled out on mine. The engine will not start.
