If you are going to use
a metal roof, then you don't need plywood for the roof. Just use a batten system. Horizontal 2 X 4" across the rafters. Save the cost of plywood to get heavier gauge roofing then that sold in big box stores.

I made a pole caravan shelter with a steel roof.
Poles are 3' deep and concreted.
Much triangulation.
LOTS of screws; I used stainless. there are no nails in the structure. Beams are attached with long SS lag bolts.
I pay a lot for wood here, so didn't use more than necessary.
The thing is, the roof line has to be quite straight, but the poles are not straight, and the hand dug holes aren't exact either.
I used strings, a laser, and temporary stringers to get it close. after the poles were in and the concrete set, I used a home made router jig to set the notches in the poles in one line with my big old Makita router [grunt].
It just takes a bit of planning.
I have salty and occasionally very strong wind.
