Troy-bilt transaxle oil change

I bought a Troy-bilt 42 inch cut 547cc single cylinder 7 speed manual transmission last summer.
The other day I got the owners manual out and was looking up maintenance info.
There's no info on how to change the transaxle oil.
I got down low and looked for a drain plug on the transaxle.
I couldn't find anything.
Anyone have any ideas?

Re: Troy-bilt transaxle oil change

That type uses some type of grease. I think most any kind you have will work.

Re: Troy-bilt transaxle oil change

7 speed shift on the fly it is often called. Two belt double sheave pulley system.
The trans is lubed for life and no need to even consider changing. It is one of the most durable ones out there.
No oil in it to get dirty or wear out like a hydro. It's got grease a little thicker than 00 grease from what I remember. Only had one apart. Only seen one fail and that was due to being dropped off a truck and it cracked the end of axle housing. You could easily see the axle sitting higher up than other side. It too 4 YEARS to grind one of the gears off inside from excessive load from the angle tilt.
Service not needed.
