Question Price Check: John Deere 5320

I'm selling my acreage in Sanford, FL (Central Florida) so that means I've got to sell off my equipment which includes the tractor/loader/mower. Thought I'd check in with y'all for advice on a fair price to sell the tractor. Trying to find a fair price to sell it without ripping anyone off including myself. The LCD hour meter is unreadable so unfortunately I don't know the hours but do know they are very low as the tractor was used as a weekend warrior toy. I have the exact number of gallons of Diesel that was purchased for the tractor...anyway to guesstimate the hours on it based on fuel consumption??? I'll try to fiddle under the dash to see why the LCD is not showing but I'm guessing that a lot of folks here will tell me that JD LCD display are notorious for failing. Tractor and implements are in excellent condition as this tractor was used on a small 12 acre parcel of land which was leased out for hay crop and the lessee use all his equipment for hay production.

Re: Price Check: John Deere 5320

You could take a look at Tractor House and see what they have for pricing. Currently, they have that model going for a high of $32K and a low of $17K.

Re: Price Check: John Deere 5320

IMHO Tractor House prices are normally higher than most true retail prices. I can't envision a 16 yr old 64 engine HP open station tractor tractor with FEL selling for $32K

Re: Price Check: John Deere 5320

I'd use 1.5 gallons per hour and see what that makes the hours. The Nebraska Test listed fuel used at full engine speed was 3.4 gallon/hour and we know it was not run at full speed all the time.

The local dealer has a 5320, 4x4 Power Reverser, loader, R1 tires, 1100 hours for $26,500 asking price. I am sure the Power Reverser adds more, but not sure how much more.

Re: Price Check: John Deere 5320

I think 3.4 gallons per hour is too much fuel per hour for a 64 HP tractor.. My JD 4255(/120+HP) only uses 3.2 GPH pulling my JD rd hay baler baling hay & my Kubota M7040(70 HP) only uses 2.5 GPH pulling the same rd baler.

Re: Price Check: John Deere 5320

3.4 gallon /hour came from Nebraska Tractor tests.
My 2030 uses about 2 gallons per hour when brush hogging at PTO rpm.
