Pre-heat Problems

I have a 2014 Kioti CS2410 w/130 hrs. and am having issues with the pre-heat mode. the tractor is stored inside a heated building. I turn the key to preheat mode and the light does not come on.
Those of us with this model know what a bad location the ignition switch is placed and has been bent several times by hitting it getting on the machine.
If I jiggle the key before trying to start it will function properly so far which leaves me to believe the ignition switch may be the issue.
Has anyone had similar issues?

Re: Pre-heat Problems

I have not had that issue, but it sounds like you need a new ignition switch.

Regarding hitting the key/switch with my knee, I solved that problem by ONLY getting on and off the machine from the left hand side.

Re: Pre-heat Problems

Thanks' Gary, I do get on from the left side. I seem to hit the hazard switch and the key moving around during operating. I'm a little guy hence the name and have the seat all the way back.
I'm still pleased with this machine going on 5 years and have had no issues. It has the FEL,BB,DB, 50" FMB. It is a little work horse for it's size.
I have 700' of driveway half concrete and asphalt compacted grindings and live in the snow capital of Ohio. The blower, BB setup works great for me here.
I had 1 issue with the blower in the beginning throwing the chain but resolved that issue. I fabricated a set of 4" wide 6" long skies for the blower so when the asphalt grinding drive is not frozen the blower travels over it in FF with know issues and modified the front brace on the blower discharge chute that has so far eliminated plugging when the snow is wet and heavy.
I think I resolved the issue with the ignition by spraying PB blaster in it... fingers crossed.
I do plan on relocating the hazard, ignition switch.

Re: Pre-heat Problems

How did you resolve the snow blower throwing its chain? Mine will still do that if under an extreme load.

Re: Pre-heat Problems

Gary, check the alignment of the gears and make sure they are tight, in my case it came from the factory out of alignment. I have considered tacking the top gear to the shaft if it happens again.
When we have really heavy snow I crawl through it watching that the rpm's don't drop.
I made a spring tensioner for it but it did not make a difference and difficult to position. There is room for a little adjustment and I mean a little on the bottom gear.
