BX valve adjustment

Rain all day today, so I did maintenance on the BX, all fluids and filters. Iím at 650 hours which is early for valve adjustment, manual says 800 hours. But glad I did it anyway, had all day to mess with it, 4 of the 6 valves were out of spec, too tight. IMO, too tight is worse than too loose. Itís an easy DIY job, doesnít take long. I recommend doing it before 800 hrs, doesnít hurt anything, and itís free.

hereís a valve pic incase you havenít seen the cover off, everything nicely made, easy to get to. The valve cover gasket is rubber, not crappy cork, so I didnít replace.

Re: BX valve adjustment

I'm sorry, OT, but that tractor is just way too clean, engine and all.

Re: BX valve adjustment

Good info, thanks! I'm glad to hear the valve adjustment is pretty straightforward on the BX. Some of the motor cycles I've had have been a nightmare
