SC2400 very hard to start
My tractor has become increasingly hard to start this winter. First it was a problem when the temp was below 10f, then it wouldn't start when temp was below 20f. I put a trickle charger on the battery, a magnetic heater on the oil pan. These helped for awhile, then I started putting it in the garage before forecasted snow. Last weekend it wouldn't start with 8" of snow on the ground even though it was 30 in the garage. Anyway, talked to the dealer and he thought maybe the fuel shutoff solenoid was bad as nothing else he suggested had worked. He came Friday afternoon and replaced the solenoid with one from a tractor at the shop. It didn't work any better but he did show me how to take it off and with the key on, push the plunger in, replace the solenoid and fire it up. It was 10f this morning when I did that and it fired right up, even without using the glowplugs. So i have a work around till the new part comes in, I'm a semi happy camper.
