Looking at a 5000
I've owned a 3225 for several years and keep running into (over!) it's limits. I'm pretty good at maintenance/repairs and have "used" my current cub to move many tons of landscaping while mowing/maintaining my lawn. I've come across a 5000 that's about 10 yrs newer with a deck and a loader and am considering the purchase.
I'm aware of some of the problems with the transmission and the spline shaft.
I'm curious about the hydraulic system as that's a weak spot on my 3225. How is this aspect of the 5000s?
Are there other aspects that are problematic? Are the front wheel drives solid?
Thanks for helping me to make a good choice. I've long maintained that the CCs are a tremendous value for the $$ if you take care of them. I figure you folks know best how to do that!
Thanks in advance for any help.
