Anyone ID this Bush Hog?

Hey! I recently had this rotary thrown in on a Kubota B7100HST deal. I originally thought it may be an older Bush Hog SQ48 Squealer from some pictures, but looking at the gear box, the Bush Hogs seem to be Square, and mine is round with a lift loop cast in the housing. There are no identifying marks aside from the remnant "B" of a sticker. Here's a few pics. Mainly figuring out parts (blades, etc) for a quick refurb. Thanks!

Re: Anyone ID this Bush Hog?

OK - so, I haven't gotten a certain ID yet, but I did free up the seized tail wheel last night. Took a 1/2 can of PB blaster, 2# sledge, & 8# sledge, and a good bit of heat. After about an hour it came free. Next is to get the blades off and check the spindle for play.

Re: Anyone ID this Bush Hog?

I found that this is a Befco rotary. I can't find any info on older models and there are no identifiers on the unit. The blades were never sharpened, I removed them, checked the spindle (good), lubed up and re-assembled. Changed out the fluid in the gear box, prepped it for paint and have a coat of rusty metal primer on awaiting some paint when the weather warms up.

I'd be interested in seeing how you bring it back to life. What color are you using?

Re: Anyone ID this Bush Hog?

I got it all done and dropped at my property on Saturday. You can see the before in the pics above. Here's primer, paint & delivery. Not a show piece and only cost me paint & gear oil.

Nice work. Have you tried it/hooked it up just yet to get a sense of how good it works?

Memorial day I'm going out to trailer the B7100 out, hook it up and cut with it. I'll post back with my results!

Re: Anyone ID this Bush Hog?

Got to put the brush hog thru it's paces yesterday. Worked great, very smooth. I was surprised how well it cut, and what it would cut. I cleared about 2 acres for 4 food plots and cut our roads so we could get vehicles in. All told I put about 3 hours on the meter and got a ton done yesterday. There was nothing but overgrown brush, vines & saplings in the food plot pic with the 3 trees. It would have taken us hours to cut, clear, & weedwack. Here's some pics:

Looks great! Nice work! I like the bear checking out your rig in the one picture. He must have been impressed with the workmanship
