Craftsman 204080

Bought this last July to replace my 1997 Craftsman, mainly because the avert said I could use the snow thrower off the old one. Long story short version, it did but with quite a few alterations, mainly cutting, no welding. I didn't think I would like the car style accelerator and reverse on my heel but I like it now. It is made by Husquavarna so when Sears goes out of business I can hopefully get parts. Cuts good and with 54" deck is a lot quicker than the old one. Only had one good snowstorm but works great. Am planning on getting an electric lift for garden plow before fall. All and all quite satisfied with it so far.

I had that style pedal on a previous tractor, and liked not having to move my foot at all to go in reverse. Good luck with your new tractor.

Finally ordered my Johnny Buckets rear hydraulic lift and is working great. Plowed the garden and even works well for 70 lbs extra weights for snow blowing

Re: Craftsman 204080

They had one of those 20408 tractor at a Sears Outlet near me at one third of the price. $1274.00 It was a floor model at another Sears. Had a few scratches on it and some knobs missing but that's it. It was a deal whoever got it.

Same model has been sitting outside here at my local Sears. I've watched it go down in price over the last two months to $2699 and now to $2099! I wish I had the $ to buy it.

Re: Craftsman 204080

I got basically the same model 2016 with a 50' deck K58 trans dies a month after the 2 year warranty. IF you have flat dirt to mow, maybe if you have hills stay away.

Re: Craftsman 204080

Sears rep talked me into this before I knew anything about tractors. My yard is all slopes, 2 acres. Transmission burnt out within 20 hours. Sears said it was my fault for trusting their sales rep and not knowing better.
