Re: John Deere 3038E review (poor)
A little bump on this thread, I am an electrical engineer, and work primarily in the automotive industry, while an undergrad, we had a speaker in class from one of the big three, his job was to design wire harness assemblies. A comment he made about insulation compounding to specifically last 80 months. So this automaker intentionally produces a product designed to fail. It is the nature of business today, if they built every new John Deere like a Jubilee, they would go out of business the same way Jubilee did! So sad!
I bought new Deeres this year, a 3032e, and a X350, they are completely plastic, and about as cheap as I have seen, I am horribly disappointed in them, the X350 was back to the dealer after 2 days, the deck design is ridiculous, and a face mask is required to mow with it, due to the blowout. Deere know itís a problem, but will sell you a kit to fix it.
But here is the kicker, I looked at other models, and unless your price point is $50k this is what market has become, they are all about the same now.
