Re: Snow Tonight/Tomorrow

Still waiting for the last of the shaded snow piles to melt away. The last two days did a number on them. The piles in the front yard that were still there from the day after Thanksgiving are finally gone.

Re: Snow Tonight/Tomorrow

The snow is finally gone, as are the thousand or so branches and twigs I picked up. The leaves are almost all gone. Waiting for a new Toothbar I ordered. Then comes topsoil, mulch, stone, grass seed, Scotts 4-Step and my wife's dental bill. I may have to go back to work.

Re: Snow Tonight/Tomorrow

Was a "red flag" fire danger in this area last Friday ,outdoor burning was banned, but several brush fires erupted along many highways ..all the weather forecasters were saying Boston was drier than many desert areas last week..

But today it is back to rain, after Sunday being sunny and warm,in the 60's...temperature in my area is about 50 degrees, but other parts of the state are only in the 30's..it is expected to remain drizzly, cloudy and cold in the 40's now until Thursday..
Better than the weather headed for the midwest I guess--but still "unpleasant"..

Re: Snow Tonight/Tomorrow

Well, it rained enough Friday night that I was able to burn brush all weekend, then started raining again overnight last night. Stayed cold, windy and wet all day, even though the rain and drizzle ended after lunchtime.

Got the woodstove running again, looks like we'll need that for at least another week, especially on nights after Little League practice (which is nearly every night).

Re: Snow Tonight/Tomorrow

I was tempted to fire up the wood stove down in the furnace room last night--it was pretty chilly in the house,it didn't feel like 65 degrees, the damp cold air goes right thru to your bones when its like this here..I kept pulling the blanket over my head in bed!..but didn't feel like getting up and loading the stove ,getting it lit..by then I'd be wide awake again..

It was 36 here when I got up at 7 am,now its only maybe 40...sun is trying to poke out at the moment,it was gray and dreary all morning...more rain coming later today they say now too..

Beautiful brisk cloudy low 40s yesterday, but dry enough to pick up most leaves. Only had to go around a couple of snow piles, except in the drive in front of the side garage. This morning it’s 28 and a fresh 2” on the ground and more coming down for an hour or so yet.

It was nice to get the new bags on the old bagger, oil/filter changed in the X738. Been waiting for it to get warm enough to paint the mower deck so it will cure enough to use to pick up leaves the easy way with the Cyclone Rake that got washed and cleaned the week before last.

JD 2014 X738; 25.5 hp; HDAP tires; 54” deck auto-connect; hyd. angle quick hitch;

Scotts 2002 L17.542 17.5 hp; 42" w/bagger
Husqvarna 2010 GTH27V52LS w/52" fab deck
Craftsman DLT2000, 48”
