Re: PTO remote/shipper shaft issues
When I went through one of L8s I had a similar problem, the remote PTO didn't want to engage. After some fiddling, I ended up making a new pin (the part that goes in the rotating thingie on top of the shipper shaft) and cleaning up some rough spots and burrs on the arm where it engages the pin. Then made sure the pin was well greased.
It turns out that at least on this one, when you're trying to engage the thing, the arm is pushing on the pin almost in line with where the shipper shaft rotates. Ie, mechanical advantage wise, it's not an ideal situation. So any little thing that causes it to hang up ends up with a stuck PTO handle.
I thought about modifying the lever to shorten the oblong hole a little, which would prevent it from going quite so far in the disengage direction, but it worked ok after I did the above stuff, so I left it.
Not sure that's the problem you're seeing; FWIW.
