I love seeing your pictures as well. It's a true testimate to just how tough these machines are! There is nothing that compares to them in my opinion!

My daughter and I spent 15 minutes knocking down a field of weeds with the 650 and 24G

It was her first time on the 650,,,,
I thought I was gonna need a 2X4 to knock the grin off her face,,,,

She was ready to mow another 6 acres,,,

Those two machines REALLY kicked op a dust cloud from the weeds,,,,

Hello folks
I see that everybody is at work and enjoy with the Gravelys
Myself I spent a long time out for many reasons!
By now, just the good Super C8 is working!!!!! Three Kohler engines are with trouble: the 8hp is at a technical school to be restored, the 12hp has problems with the ACR that I cannot resolve and the 14hp has the coil out of order§ Old 194 Ls are waiting for better days and the old old D is retired as the rings are worn (logical after almost 80 years). you can understand that I don't really enjoy with my Gravelys. By chance we have had a terribly dry weather since april and I needed to mow only once!! After the plowin with the C8 tractors remained in the garage!!
I hope for better days

Hang in there Andre, things will get better.

My honey-do list is out of control so no real progress on the gravely front, I did however buy all new fasteners and hitch pins for the kwik way loader at TSC yesterday so that's something I guess.

Re: What did you do to/with your Gravely today... restart 2.0

Spent the better part of the day on the 8123. Wouldn't start a few weeks ago and never looked at it until today. Bad fuel pump. I had a new one on hand, installed it and it fired right up.

Then.............. I have a mountain of soil to move around at a customers house this week. So off came the front PTO, shaft etc. Dug out the dirt blade. Could NOT find my mounting brackets. Searched high, low and in between. Finally made a pair.

Tried it out, the starter died. Bad bushing on the drive end. Went to the shelf, picked out my last used starter in stock and switched it out .

Then I pushed some dirt around near my pile of firewood. Ran the 8123 back into the garage and set up the blade for down pressure. Yup, all set, lifts the front tires off the ground.

So ole ugly 8123 is ready for some trial work at home tomorrow to make sure there are no more bugs before she hits the road to work.

All you do is take the lift rod and put a nut on both sides of the portion that normally slides. The plow still floats in the "float" position. I can try to get pics but my phone does not do well taking pictures under things.

I'm pretty sure Ralph has done this as well.

If I find that to be an issue it certainly is easy enough to reverse. I was just back dragging hard packed gravel on my driveway and pushing around packed soil and so far so good.

The ole ugly 8123 is running really well!

I pushed hard packed dirt until I spun the weighted AG's. She is a pushing fool!

I also replaced one trip spring with a piece of steel. Trip blade in the dirt....not a big help

I'll get some pics of the setup later. Gotta find some dirt to move now

Re: What did you do to/with your Gravely today... restart 2.0

I have a large pile of topsoil to level at a customers house, so I wanted 2 things. To make sure the 8123 wasn't going to act up. I don't use it much. And I wanted the practice at leveling.

Plus the needed seat time

I went out to cut some grass and found a rear flat on my 8123. I had lost a good deal of my RV antifreeze ballast too. It leaked right where it was convenient for my shop cats to get into. This is precisely why I use the RV antifreeze too.

Anyhow, when I pulled the wheel I immediately found the culprit. I guess this one's shot.

I have a set of ags mounted on wheels that were part of a parts deal I made several years ago. They are 10.50's and I thought sure I remembered some conversations about 10.50's not fitting between the gauge wheels of the 50" mower with the wheel dish turned out. I had nothing to lose but time by trying.

After torque set on the hub set screws the tires fit right up.

Plenty of clearance too. The first two are deck up and the third pic is typical of the deck down.

Much to my surprise, many of my understeering problems have been solved too. I can't explain it, but the tractor steers much better now. It'll steer even better when I get the knobby tires and weights on the front. I have hilly property. I'll get the rears loaded in the near future too.
