Tonight after work I picked up a 40 in Kidney deck . So I am back mowing with a gravely

If I had a deck like that on my ‘91 professional 8, I wouldn’t have had to buy my Gravely ProTurn 152. I just couldn’t keep up with mowing the pastures and the woods, about 5+ acres total.
If I had to mow 5+ acres I would have bought the 50 inch deck that the gentleman had. The professional 12 has enough power to run the 50 inch deck I live on about 1/2 acre with about 40 x 60 garden with my yard size and layout the 40 mower made more sense . Plus I like that deck discharge is to the left back side of the deck so you can mow tight against stuff on either side of the deck

I have been mowing fields of 2' tall weeds with my '69 C8 and 42" sickle bar. So far so good. It even provides mosquito control as it has quite a smoking habit.

1. As with PaulL, I've been hammering the (four foot tall) weeds with my 42in. sickle mower on the 5665. Weed Carnage TM... utter devastation

2. Bought Viton O-ring seals for the MA 709 Sprayer- RoundUp won't break them down.

I looked at it and walked away! But, I've discovered that if you park the lawn chair exactly right, the top of the mower gear box makes a good spot to rest a liquid refreshment.
Tween the 90+ heat every day and the miserable mosquitoes I dont go out unless I have to.
Ive sprayed so much mosquito spray on myself my legs are beet-red.
Weather here is so screwed up, first it rained every day by the buckets for 2 months and now its just dry and 90+ deg w/no rain. Always "too something"!
The weather said because of all the rain the mosquitoes were gonna be bad something about their eggs were already in the ground and they were right.
