Ariens Employees Build Commemorative Mowers for Gravely 90th Anniversary Celebration
Brillion, Wis. (Oct. 10, 2005) — As part of the Gravely 90th anniversary celebration, the Ariens Company commissioned some of its employees to build commemorative mowers that will be on display at the 2006 International Lawn, Garden & Power Equipment Expo in Louisville, Ky., and then permanently housed in the Ariens Museum in Brillion, Wis.
The first piece of “souped-up” equipment is a Gravely® 260Z that Ariens employee Dan Brault modified using chrome and specialty paint. Creating a “street rod feel,” the traditional leather seat was replaced with gray tweed and embroidered with the Gravely logo. Brault is involved with World of Wheels and will display the model at an upcoming event.
The second commemorative vehicle is a rebuilt 1959 Gravely® 2-Wheel Tractor. The employee team of Jim Laughrin, Mike Geiger and Nick Ruppenthal took special pride in rebuilding this piece of Gravely history.

Using all of the original components, the 2-wheel tractor was modified with chrome and painted using automotive paint, and received a complete cleaning. From start to finish, it took the team a little over a month to rebuild the 2-wheel tractor.

I'll bet that is one pretty machine.... shame it will probably never see work again.
