Going Pulling....

Hello... Looking for some help and advise.... I have a 1956 Farmall Cub... It's 100% stock... Even still has it's 6 volt system.. I am going to enter a local pulling contest at our County Fair.. I'm a life long Drag Racer, but I haven't ever pulled... What's the best plan of attack..... What gear do other pullers start in? 1st. or 2nd.? Is speed more important than power? Does anyone have a base starting point on air pressure in tires? And tips or inside info is much appreciated.. Thanks

Re: Going Pulling....

I'm no professional puller, but I'd say traction and momentum, I'd do some test pulls with whatever heavy you have around, see what gear you can start off in without stalling and try and get the RPMs up quick to gain some ground speed, if I'm incorrect with any of these uneducated assumptions by all means correct me. I'm interested in learning more of this also.

Re: Going Pulling....

I hope someone here comes in and tells us all how to do this. I find pulling quite interesting so I'm curious about it too.

My "honey-do list" is so long it has chapters.
