Arrow John Deere X300 K66 Upgrade project

So guys I decide to go forward whit the project to replace the K46BR3 on my X300 with a K66Y.

I know some of you have objection and concern about the warranty of the tractor, please be advise Iím doing that for me and do not advise anyone to do it.

If you decide otherwise be advice that I strongly recommend that you wait until your warranty expired.

Disclaimer: this thread is for information only.

I receive it this afternoon, NOS K66Y ($300.00 CDN at my door step)

I inspect it and everything seam OK at first look, tomorrow I will test it on bench.

First I will replace all the oil and make the purge procedure, like usual I will document my progress all along.

Enjoy

Are you considering any frame modifications to strengthen things up a bit?

Re: John Deere X300GT project

This will be great to watch and congratulations on the beefed up tranny. Do you plan to sell the K46BR3 and if so will it fit in my L110 hydro?

No not really because the X300 share the same frame of the X500.

They only difference is the hitch plate in the back is a bit thicker and is longer

Yes I will change the rim to put the recommend tire size (23x10.50-12)

In fact it's already in order at John Deere (suppose to be there tomorrow)

The tire I plan to install are HDAP or Lug, I did not decide yet.

The X300 hitch plate takes only two suitcase weights. The X500 hitch plate takes 4 suitcase weights.

If the X500 hitch plate is reasonably priced an advantage with a 44" blower out front.

I am very much looking forward to following this thread. Can't wait to see what needs to be done to make this happen.

Actually, I propose that this be a sticky already!

Could probably use wheel weights now as well with the bigger wheels.
