I'm starting this thread, hoping all owners of Power Kings... new, old, in between....running, dead, shiny new paint, or the special ''brown'' color...or -whatever- condition will post some pics of each of their tractors.

Any pic is great, sitting still, in operation, any season....

Post your pic, and the year, and model of the tractor...plus a description of any attachment (model #/size etc.) Plus a little story behind the pic is great too...ie: This was my dad's, he bought it new, I cleaned up some junk for an elderly neighbor and they gave it to me, I found this behind a barn, etc.

This should be cool...it will expand everyone's knowledge of the mighty Power Kings, both new and old!

this was taken from a cub cadet forum, i did not write it up, i dont want credit i just changed all the cub cadets to power kings. i took it because the original one had exactly 400 reply here is the cub cadet thread.

this is the only pic i have of mine at the moment, the rest are on my memory card. its towing a 1935 speedex model B. if you want go to my profile there are some pulling pics of it.

its a 1975 1614 my dad bought it a few years ago. it has been restored once but it should be done again. it has a belly mower, front plow/dozer blade, snowblower, rear hoe, york rake, homemade 3pth forklift, and modified engine hoist for the 3pth

One for me, one for my granddaughter. 1972, K321. I have restored the 48 inch mower, have a rear dirt blade, single bottom plow, both restored, and
original disks waiting for cooler weather to restore. I started to pull the disks out last month, and the wasps and temperature convinced me to wait until cooler weather.

My first, restored 1612 in Christmas parade.

Second is a '77 Jim Dandy - 1614 that I have my eye on. The owner has all sorts of stuff to go with it, including a mid mount blade. Never seen one for an Economy before, but its rock solid and looks factory.

That blade looks identical to a blade I found in a Wheel Horse collection. I knew it wasn't a WH blade. I later was told it was for a Simplicity. I modded it to be used as a back blade and mid blade on my WH 704. The first pic is the frame after mods.

This is my machine. I got it earlier this year. This is a '75 Jim Dandy 1614. It's my plan to restore it to original glory someday. But for now I have fun keeping the weeds at bay and taking it for spins around the neighborhood. I have a mower deck for it but I believe the bearings are wearing out. It's a fun piece.

bmxkid313 - Thanks for kind words about the restore. The wheel stripe was hand painted by my mom. She thought all black was too plain.

Re: the Jim Dandy, it has not run in 2 years, but same old story "it ran when I parked it." Owner says he had not thought about selling until I stopped by, so he asked me to make an offer. I am thinking about starting a thread for pricing help.

Mike 604, and others re the mid blade. I thought it, and the wheel weights, tool bar, and disc (not pictured) was a real find. I guess I need to get serious about making an offer. Like I need another one in the garage. Right?

Here is a 2414 that I picked up last summer. It came with a rear tlller (dual transmissions), tool bar with hillers, shot mower deck w/mule drive, and some other tool bar attachments (not bad for $1500). The eletric pto bearings are shot, and I am going to pull it apart and see if it can be rebuilt.

The Jim Dandy and 1614 are two different tractors, you have a Jim Dandy.
I'm always willing learn and understand so help me out with this. I had the understanding that the numbers always stood for sizes within the nameplate of each model such as 1412, 1612, 1614, 1816, etc. whereby the first 2 digits are the wheel size of particular unit and the second 2 digits are the motor size of same unit, ie.. Power King 2416 or Jim Dandy 1614. If I have this all wrong, someone please help me out with this so I don't continue to sound uninformed. Thanks.

You are partially correct.I think it was in 1977 (not sure) when they started using the number designations. The numbers do stand for the tire size and engine size but they did not always use the numbers to identify the tractors. It used to be that a Power King was just identified by Power King and could come in different tire sizes and engine sizes but it was different from the Jim Dandy which later became know as the 1612,they were both a little smaller, light weight and cheaper. The earlier tractors were known as a Power King or Jim Dandy but I am unsure going back the real early years.

1973 only lists three different models.

I deal with these tractors every day and every day something still comes up about these tractors that boggles my mind so feel bad when something stumps you about these tractors, that is probably one thing that makes them so interesting.

Interesting.....from now on, she's just my Jim Dandy! Moving on. There have to be more than just the few units already posted above. Don't be bashful everyone. Let's see 'em. As you can see, they don't have to be trailer queens.
