I was given a 78 Ford 2600 when my gpa died. It sat for 3 years, but was running like a top prior to. Will crank, but won't start. Anyone have a manual available for it? Also, how do I know if it is gas or diesel?
Tractor Number: C6305_6 (second to last number scraped off)
Model Number: BA252B
Unit Number: 9L08B
Engine Number: 9K20A
Model number BA252B.
BA2 = 2600 All Purpose (An agriculture type, mainly), 158 cubic inch engine.
5 = Diesel
2 = Transmission driven PTO, 540 rpm (I think that is at engine 1800 rpm)
B = 6x2 manual transmission (3 gears forward and 1 reverse in high and low gear, respectively)
9L08B means the tractor was assembled November 8, 1979.
9K20A means the engine was built October 20, 1979.
Serial number C6305_6 means that the tractor was assembled in USA.
The serial number confirms 1979 as production year (according to tractordata.com).
I can't thank you enough for your help and knowledge.
