Bready 2 wheel garden tractor

Hello,
I have this Bready two wheel tractor. I don't see much mentioned about them. Are they or were they very popular? I have a single bottom factory plow that came with it. Other than it being a neat little piece of old iron, are they collectable?

Re: Bready 2 wheel garden tractor

I know their 4 wheelers have a loyal, if not huge, following. Can't say I know much about their WB's though. It is a neat machine in either case.

Now, about that thing with tracks in the back right corner???????

.....just call me Ellis

Folks say I'm lazy, drunk and stupid. Well, I got news for them......they're only 2/3 right.

They say you catch more flies with honey than vinegar, but I've always had my best success with a dead squirrel

Want to see what happens when you join parts from about 6 GT's, farm tractors, walkbehinds, ship parts, push mowers, trailers, scrap air compressors, CNC lathes, junk refrigerators, tread mills and more? If so, check out me and Mike's most excellent Gravely Custom Build and Adventure Thread

Re: Bready 2 wheel garden tractor

That little beauty hiding in the corner is my 1924 Holt/Caterpillar 2 Ton. She is yelling at me to get her all pretty again!! I haven't touched it in a few years as a much needed divorce had to be taken care of. So she languished in storage for sometime. Now she's back home needing some love.
I am either the third or fourth owner. The family I got it from bought it in the late 30's. It was used to skid logs and sap buckets out of the woods in the upper peninsula of Michigan. The original motor threw a rod out the side of the block in the late 50's, so it was re-powered with a Ford flathead out of a farm truck. I started to change it over to a small block Chevy but, have since decided to rebuild the flathead and put it back. I found a lot of the original Cat pieces in the woods...all but the engine.

Re: Bready 2 wheel garden tractor

The two wheelers were pretty popular back in there day, but really the early 2 wheelers just faded out of use. Or their use faded from them.. There is not a lot of Bready guys out there. The company faded fast after the early 60's so unlike other brands that kept building, they did not keep the following. I don't know a lot about them at all... Im mostly into the bready 4 wheelers.

At GTtalk - Lawn and Garden Tractor Resources there is a Walk Behind Garden Tractor Forum that is much more active than the 2-Wheeled Tractor forum here.
