Another great group. First Davey Jones died, now Peter. They made good music.

Re: R.I.P. - Peter Tork

Original fake news story, these guys were never intended to be a "real" group, they were hired for a comedy show. But
davey jones could sing and mike nesibess could play guitar mickey dolens had to learn how to play drums and peter tork learned how to play keyboard, my favorite is daydream beliver this group hung out with the beatles and the stones!! I miss being young and digging that music RIP Peter

Re: R.I.P. - Peter Tork

My older sister played The Monkees albums endlessly when I was a kid..after the ruined the Beatles for me by playing them ad-nauseum..
I liked "Take The Last Train To Clarksville" the best...

Sad to see all the entertainers we grew up with passing away lately --I didn't realize Peter was 77 either, didn't think he was that old..

RIP Peter. We use to watch the Monkee's tv show every Saturday morning when I was soooo much younger. The Monkee's song that really hits me is Mickey performing "goin down" which iirc is a variation of Mose Allison's "Parchment Farm". I read somewhere he amazingly did it in 1 take; there's a video of it on youtube.

Re: R.I.P. - Peter Tork

Unbelievable. Very sad, but also hard to believe how fast time flies.

I'm with you, Robert! I'm starting to make a point of going to as many shows as I can. I don't care if they're making new music, if they sound good and are still touring, I'm there!

Saw REO Speedwagon and Chicago last summer. Both bands have members in their 60s and 70s, and both still put on great shows! Going to see REO again in April!!!
