one other thing
As little as 5 years ago...2000 would get you a gear drive or variable pulley drive lawn tractor from the high end brands. Then Home Depot and Deere started establishing that a premium brand could be bought for 1500.Both basically trying to buy their way in to this part of the business. Now the price value pressure is huge.Sort of but not as great as what computers have gone through.
The retail customer ,who before was looking at 800~$1000 Yard Machine,Craftsman or Murray ,will pay double (ALOT of money in his mind) if all the bells and whistles are there. The experienced tractor buyer will move himself on up. Really boils down to its a tool to be valued to some and an appliance to thers. btw......its one of the things that drove Murray out of business.
This buyer is very influenced by the three things he's seen in the paper mentioned earlier. It actually takes LONGER to sell one of these machines.....and sometimes more visits to our dealership by the prospective buyer. Another funny thing.........I wish I had a quarter for each time the prospect asked me....."Do you repair here?" Guess our store is too nice....lol.
BTW Thank you Duc
