Cub cadet 3205 axle leaking

Hey guys, I have my mower shut down for right now for water pump gaskets, and I would like to take care of my axle leak while it’s down. My axle seams to be leaking a lot of oil. I pulled off brakes and hub found the plate on the end loose so I removed it and cleaned plate and area before remounting put back together and didn’t move mower at all due to waiting for pump gaskets came back out 4 days later and a huge puddle of hydraulic oil on the ground. Anybody have this issue and now what I need to do to fix it.

Sounds like you have some leaking seals. A member named Oaktodd has plenty of info he could share with you to make your repair. I'm sure he will chime in soon.

Here is a write up of a repair done by Oaktodd on another site. I'm sure it will resolve your issue.

Re: Cub cadet 3205 axle leaking

Thanks EJL!

I did the write up on here too. This was on a 3165. It has the same rear as your 3205 but it didn't have the locking differential.

Some of the part numbers have changed since I did mine but they are still available.

Pay close attention to the bolts for the locker. You may want to pull them and use red Loctite and re torque them.

I also did my 3205 this spring so I'll see if I can did some pics up for you.

Get us some more pics when you open it up. Also check those roller bearings. Give them a good cleaning and a good amount of lube.
