LT1042 and alzheimers :)
Hi, I've got a CC with a 42" deck and the timing belt. This year, the drive belt seens to slip too easily, and I'm wondering about my hookup. I'm hooking the spring to the post that's closest to the right side pulley(with the brake pad).
It cuts OK, but the mower sound dies off a lot while the engine seems to be running at a constant speed. The mower picks up if I raise the deck or often if I just back up a little. I don't remember it being like that in prior years. I have cleaned the deck several times.
I think that I could get more tension if I hooked it to the post closer to the center, but that seems fairly difficult to do. I thought that I always hooked it to the RH post, but when I look now, it just seems fairly loose. I just replaced the belt, which helped somewhat, but not a lot.
Appreciate any help.
