Cub 3205 Steering Problems

I have a Cub Cadet 3205 that pulls to the left all the time, you have to keep turning the wheel to the right to go straight. Would the steering pump need new seals in it or what could be the problem?

Thank you

Re: Cub 3205 Steering Problems

the steering ram only works to the left wheel, first check your tie rod ends, for excessive play...and have someone turn the steering wheel while you watch the linkages for slop....
report back please
good luck

I have checked the steering and everything is tight. I have had a similar problem few years ago but it would turn lift at slow speeds or when the oil was cold. Afterwards it warmed up it would run ok so I replaced the steering pump (valve) with a used one and it worked great till now. This problem just started couple weeks ago.

Thanks for your advice Ray. I noticed yesterday when I was mowing, when it would work ok, the steering wheel would turn the wheels to the stops and the steering wheel would stop. When it pulls to the left you can turn the steering wheel either direction and the wheels would go to the stops but the steering wheel can continue turning. I’m not familiar with steering units but I have been trying to understand this so I could maybe repair it instead of replacing due to cost.

My problem just started about two weeks ago while I was mowing. I know the problem is in the steering pump (valve) but not sure what is causing it. I’m not sure if it is a seal or something worn in it. I’m not sure how it actually works with the centering springs and the way they are made.
