1988 Cub Cadet 1811 - Show Off & Opinions - Should I keep it?

Here is my 1988 Cub Cadet 1811. I am the second owner. It is a fine piece of equipment both looking and working. Pampered its whole life. I love it, I wish I had a bigger property to really appreciate it. It is not the tightest turning thing for my 1/2 acre lot... I fabbed up some angle iron brackets to mount the newer 2 bin bagger setup on it. They bolt onto the back and can be removed easily. If I sell this mower I will miss it for sure, but it is such over kill without space to run and play.

Looks like a really nice machine in excellent condition. I'd keep it you might get a bigger place one day. Just think, with that Cub on a 1/2 acre it only take 5 minutes to cut your grass. I say keep it who wants a walk behind mower unless your looking to get some exercise. I got a lot of exercise my 1st 55 yrs and now trying to make everything easier on myself even though it hasn't gone that way, but while I'm riding my Cub cutting grass I dream of retiring soon and watching my grass grow. LOL
Keep it its paid for!

I agree with Mudy,

Not costing you anything. They don't build them like that anymore. Has the good Kohler magnum. It brings you Joy and is useful. Keep it.

Re: 1988 Cub Cadet 1811 - Show Off & Opinions - Should I keep it?

Had a Very Nice 1987 JD 318, Sold it due to a dealerships advice due to a hydraulic 'issue'...... a few years later i start talking to other 318 Maint. persons around the country and they ALL went, you did whaaaaaat.

Regret and Lost a TON of $$$$ getting another and now chasing issues that i have now apparently inherited. Now have a 1990 and am chasing things and isn't near as 'clean' as my 87, yet it was 'redone'.

Keep it and/or loan it to someone you'd trust. Just don't find nice ones like that. and yes, I grew up with a IH 782....... great all purpose machine.
