I have been mowing from 8pm to 10pm using my light bars and have no problem with bug attacks. Now the rain has backed off but the grass is still growing like wild fire and I'm mowing it every 3 to 4 days. At 4 days I've almost waited to long between mowings. LOL
The LED bars are working excellent for night mowing and I even mow in a pretty straight line with them with only large bumps in the pasture throwing me off. The ice chest holder I made is also working out very well holding my little ice chest of cold ones. My XT3GSX has 131 hrs on it now in 9 months of use with no issues as of yet. Here's a few pictures of the front LED bars and my ice chest platform rigging out of 3/4" Armoflex sheet. Oh and my 60" fab deck has really saved me some time over my old 54" deck I had on my Husqvarna mower. Still loving my XT3GSX and don't think I could have bought a better machine for the $$$$. Oh and that 1/2" steel plate I made to keep from wearing out the toe lip has worked great. Hope all of have been having as good of luck with your XT3GSX as I have.
The oil cooler I added to the engine has been lowering the oil temp as designed and on my last 50 hr. oil change the oil still looked new. I think it has been keeping the oil about 10 to 18 degrees cooler according to my infrared temp gun. Here's a close up pic of the oil cooler installed. Seem like the oil cooler kit was $100 bucks and seems to be worth the cash spent on it. I'm still using full synthetic Pennzoil Platinum 10w30 along with the Mobil1 oil filter.

Dang Don. You are a mowing maniac. You've doubled my hours and I think I've had my machine for a year longer than you. Glad to hear the lights and both coolers are working out for you. Got to keep your fluids cool amirite?

I've put 32 hours on my Deere in the last month and the only mowing was for some grass clippings for mulch for the garden. Have not done much work with it over the past 2 weeks other than spraying. Went out last evening trying to get a 2 X 3 foot wagon full of grass but was only able to get a half of a load. We need rain bad! Grass is turning brown in places.
I guess I better paint the Deere yellow to post on this site.

Looks like you may get a few sprinkles of rain, Steve Urquell, later today. We just have the stray bands from Barry.

I uploaded these to my computer as I normally do, ensured that they opened as they should, so if they're sideways I'm going to just assume that I actually live sideways to the rest of the world.

But, is it left sideways or right sideways? First one is fine.

Turn your phone with the bottom of it in your right hand when you take your pics and the sideways pic issue will be resolved.

Thanks Randy I just came in from another round of mowing on the Cub. Now I'm at 136 hrs. The Cub is just an awsome mower for my big place! Another 7 acres mowed again!!! The fuel mileage is awsome also! I try to keep 15 gallons on hand and fill up my 3 5gal. cans when I take my truck to town. Almost time to get the big JD out and burn some deisel cutting hay. At least it has A/C and plenty of space for my ice chest on the floorboard.

Thanks, that's very nice of you to say.
Actually I own the green one and the bank still owns the yellow one. LOL
Bought the 2010 JD 5083E Limited new in July 2010 and it has 570 hrs on it now and my Cub has 136 hrs. on it. Hoping to have my Cub paid off by 1st of 2020. By the looks of it if my Cub lasts 10 yrs it will have over 2000 hrs on it. LOL my new Cub doesn't get much of a break I really enjoy using it and lately it has mostly been used to mow in the dark when it is cool out.

Your Cub is looking good sideways or not. Make sure you set the parking brake so she don't roll off. LOL

OEFVeteran, check your blade brakes. I went through several belts on my TroyB before I realized the brakes were adjusted way wrong.

2018 XT3GSX 10 months old and 140 hrs. in it already! I mower my 5 acre front yard in the dark again last night using my LED bars. No bug issues attacking me, no sweating, no sun beating down on me! I'm telling you guys it's nice mowing in the dark to beat the Texas heat! Just watered the yard while drinking my coffee at 3:30am to keep her from heat stressing. No rain here now for awhile. Went from flooding to drought, but my grass sure looks good. LOL
The Cub sure has been doing a nice job. Time to grease her up and clean the air filter before the next go round. Hope your Cub is working as good as mine!
