I've _never_ found (on 2 CCs and a Husky) the deck wash to be worth messing with.

The deck wash hose adapter is still in the bag containing the manuals and receipts and that's where it will stay.
Having fought rust issues on my old 42" deck will not use anything that may remotely aid in introducing rust.

~My thoughts exactly ,didn't seem like a good Idea unless you run the deck long enough to make sure it was dry afterwords ~~oldguy

I use the deck wash on my 60" fab deck. Then I just run the blades to dry it out. When I have to mow wet grass it really packs the grass under the deck. Then I drive up on car ramps and power wash the crap out of it the deck to get it all out. Its whistle clean then.
Sorry to hear the front bumper is so expensive. I like mine mowing along all my trees on 20 acres. My big 60" deck reaches under my barb wire fence pretty good when I mow.

It would be more of an aesthetic thing for me now; I've cut down all the massive bushes that would come in contact the front grille.

The 3240 on the left is sporting a heavily modified and reinforced Agri-fab box blade. Has pipes welded on the back of it to accept plate weights and has 70lbs hanging on it.

The XT3 on the right has my Brinly cultivator mounted on the hitch. It's carrying my 3000 series hydraulic front blade and hitch which is abbout to be turned into a Johnny bucket type loader for the 3240.

I was using it to move the blade in from the back yard.

Well Installed the Mulch Kit yesterday On the 54inch Fabricated Deck. Didn't get a chance to test it as it was raining yesterday. Will try it Out today. Have always Used Gator Blades In the Past Instead of Mulch Kit's. Last year I cut It On 4 this year I have Been Cutting it On 5 to prevent a Hay field Look In the front Yard

I mow on 4 with the old 2166 42" deck but mow on 7 with the new XT3 deck to match the same cut height.

The manual lift goes up to 10; the XT3 42" deck has the same spindle housing part# but the spindle bolt is a little over 1" longer than on the 2166. There is an extra spacer between the blade and the spindle spacer to account for the length difference; guessing it's because of the 23" tires rather than the 20" tires on the old 2166 dunno.
It does give a nice clean uniform cut though.
