Hey All

Won't be any more updates until I get my 4BT engine sometime in mid April.
Current summary is that for around $45k Canadian all in for tractor, front end loader, 9 tine chisel plow shipping, taxes and Cummins engine from the US I should have a new 140hp 370ft lbs torque MFWD tractor with enclosed can, aircon and airbrakes.
Granted my time putting it together is not included in the cost
Will update the thread once I get the engine and start trying to fit it......

Congrats on finding the engine, looking forward to the "fitment" posts in the near future. We appreciate someone that takes on a challenge and perseveres over the hurdles!

Slight delay on the engine, should be shipped up from the US in about 3 weeks as the supplier is waiting for it to arrive before building it and doing a 15 hour run in before packing and shipping up to the cold white north, just in time for the land to properly thaw out :-)

Keep keeping us posted! This might be the biggest, riskiest, and one of the most ambitious tractor builds I’ve seen.

Re: Would anyone be Interested in my Chinese Tractor Experience

After reading this thread from start to finish I've got two thoughts. First an foremost is you must be one tough cookie to do all this work outside in a Canadian winter! I would have told the old lady I'm not doing any tractor assembly until I have a proper shop to work in. Secondly as has been mentioned before any dealer service and parts availability you may need in the future may be problematic. I buy most tractor type stuff used but if I do buy new I won't buy from anybody but an authorized dealer. No Home Depot, Lowes or Walmart tractors for me.

PS: For a desk jockey you seem to have the chops and the mechanical common sense to make this work. All I can say is God bless ya! For thirty years the wife and I had horses, show and pleasure, driving and riding. Boarded some, had 6-8 of our own. It was a full time job in edition to both of us working at Eastman Kodak.
The horses were great, the boarders and my equipment were crazy fun to deal with 24/7!

I couldn't put it any better than spokes just did.
I been seeing this thread posted to for a while now and every time I do I think I have no interest in that thread.
Then when I finally read it it is probably one of the more interesting threads on this site.

Everyone is rooting for you now; even the ones that didn't agree with your decision.

Good luck!

So my 1100lb Cummins 4BT Extended Block was picked up yesterday, will be unboxing it later today and posting more pictures - for some reason, no matter what I do, the attached picture ends up upside down, weird...……………….
