Simplicity Sunstar 20 dieseling

Just got this tractor- runs pretty good. but it gets very hot and diesels forever.

Has 1300 hours. looks to be poorly maintained.

How tricky is it to pull the heads off and scrape the carbon (assuming that's what needs to be done) ??

Engine is Kohler CH20

thanks

Have you tried running at idle speed for 15 sec or so before turning it off (when it's hot from running at WOT)?

Also I think some models had an anti diesel device on the carb that ran off of the electrical. Might look to see if it has one and if it is connected.

When you turn the key off just put the throttle up to wide open. It will stop fine like that. The Kohler Command is prone to it
