I keep thinking Im gonna keep one of these rigs for myself but they sell good... so here starts #5... PO had removed the hydro pump, front diff, wheels, engine tins, air box/filter... I dragged it out from behind the shop this morning, hooked up the batt charger, gave it a squirt of gas and it fired up, no smoke or ugly noises... so Im going to reassemble it. Got a front diff and wheels on it today....
Made some progress today, hydro pump installed, engine tins and air box, fuel system, chain drive to the front diff, brake linkage, engine cover, and a test drive:tango_face_smile_bi
The PO has bypassed the neutral safety switch and the PTO switch is rusted solid so tomorrow I'll pull the steering console apart and go thru everything in there.
I think they're kinda goofy lookin myself..... BUT... they do cut very well
I got the electrics sorted out today, replaced the ign switch, neutral safety switch, headlamp, PTO switch, battery cables and installed a new battery... all workin as it should now.
Dug the deck out of the shed plus another parts deck which I'll work on tomorrow, and I will put a high back seat on it... the oem seat doesnt have a single rip so Im gonna put it away in case I sell the mower later on.
Well I have kinda the same thing...but not really....lol. A monster if you will. I should remove my blade and mount 6 mower decks to mine and mow my yard in 15 minutes...lol. Now all you need is a cab.
That's my 1956ish Massey Super 92 With a 12 foot blade for those heavy snow days...lol. Heated cab and refreshment holder. Rear power steering is a blast and turns on a dime. I think that's why I like that Agco Allis so much. Here's an old pic of my road. I like the goofy looking stuff as well as home made enginuity.

I got the deck sorted out today, front casters were seized, tension pulley and spring missing, one idler pulley seized... still missing the deflector shute and pulley covers.... but it is now a working mower
48"... its the only black deck I have left.... the rest are all in the green Deutz Allis color. I have one of those aswell but the motor is smoking bad...
Had the Agco out mowing a few times now... workin the bugs out... wasnt getting fuel from the left tank, plastic starter gear stripped, hydro belt failed, and one idler pulley on the deck was a bit noisy... nothing major or even unexpected. Happy Happy
I don’t how you find those. I know of one near here and the guy won’t sell even though I haven’t seen him mow with it 6-7 years. Use to sit outside garage but now he built big garage; I guess it’s inside, or he sold to pay for garage.
So what kind of workout could one expect out of one these? Would 1 to 1.5 acres a week with a couple of small, long slope hills, be to much for one of these?
Well they out perform any tractor/belly mower Ive ever seen by far!!! 1 or 2 acres is nothing with these rigs and rough terrain or mild slopes are no problem, they can go anywhere you might take a tractor with turf tires, they are more comparable to ZTs than to tractors.... my yard takes 8 hours with any tractor/50" belly mower, this rig with a 42" deck can do it in 3.5 hours.... 3 hrs with a 48".
What can you expect from these rigs??.... expect to be impressed, tractors are designed to do alot of differant chores reasonably well.... ZTs and front mowers are designed to do one thing very well... nobody goes back to mowing with a tractor after trying something like this rig...
Have my custom front junk rack mounted, shortened the oem lift handle and added a lift assist spring to the deck which also puts a little of the deck weight back onto the drive wheels to increase traction. Still need to buy supplies to build the wooden racks on the back.
Adding a lift assist spring serves two purposes.... make the deck lighter to lift which allows me to cut off about a foot of the lift handle... which is otherwise always getting caught in the hedges and flinging branches at my face... and it transfers some of the deck weight back onto the drive wheels to aid traction...
I'm still debating selling my Simplicity FC16, or trying to find a donor machine.
The whole rear end is shot, there is more play in the steering than a performing arts club.
The hydro is toast, only moves forward at half speed until it is warmed up.
Needs tires, I was unaware Mickey Thompson made tires that small.
I already have three mowers.
But
Golly is it handy for going underneath the pines.
I only have two backup mowers, and one of them is down.
Glad you got it all sorted out, Lance. I like the Deutz model, I'm a sucker for Spring Green.
I dont usually like green unless its camo.... but in this case the Deutz green doesnt fade as bad as the Agco orange does so the green does clean up easier... the orange and black will require alot of buffing or a repaint to look as good.
I havent had many major issues with these other than the chain drive sprockets being worn, 7 differant machines and only found one bad hydro pump so far.
I built the wooden rails for the back today, tail gate just has a couple door hooks so it comes off easily when needed... which is usually never but just in case....
Thx.... kind of an odd looking contraption IMO but they are fantastic mowers.
