Broadmoor Hydro-gear 311-0750 replacement

I have a mid 90's Simplicity Broadmoor 1692283 with hydro-gear transaxle 311-0750. So far I have not had much problem with it with the exception of pulling a step hill when mowing. Normally does ok but is getting louder and struggles more as it gets hotter. I removed and refilled with Mobil 1 5w-50 a couple of years which seemed to help. I have not been able to find out much about this transaxle as far as parts or service. It seems this was a bad choice for the broadmoor as apparantly they changed to Tuff Torq on later models. I have been watching craiglist for a parts tractor for future repairs. My question is what Tuff Torq transaxle could I use to replace the Hydro-gear? This is a hand control model. Are there alot of changes in the linkage setup that I would have to address? I noticed the parts lookup mentions a "TRANSM REPL KIT-BM HY" for over $1700. Not sure what is included in this kit for such a high price.

My Broadmoor has TuffTorq is 14hv made from '94 to ' has 40" 2 stage snowblower with wheel weights and seems to handle the weight..however it struggles to get through deep snow...could use more weight, but I am afraid to add to it for fear of destroying the trans

Hope it helps
