Deutz Allis/Sunstar 1920 Seat Switch

Hey all. The seat has been replaced on my 1920 and it is reeeeeeeely touchy. I want it to work, as I feel it is a great safety feature and I have some fairly steep hills to play on. However, I have to sit just right or it trips. This is especially annoying when mowing and it shuts down the pto because then I have to idle down, re-engage, increase RPM and start again. The wife can not for the life of her even get the thing to move. I tell her shes just not heavy enough to trigger the sensor. (She likes that ). In the manual it shows slots with adjustments, but since the seat is not original, it doesn't have anything there. Wasn't sure if there was a "typical" replacement seat that is probably on it. Any advice? Do you need more info to give good advice? Is there a different kind of sensor that I could install?

Re: Deutz Allis/Sunstar 1920 Seat Switch

I sort of have the same issue on my JD STX. When on a hill sideways, my arse tends to slide a bit and the safety switch wants to shut the machine down. I have to slide back quickly and carry on. My switch is built into the seat, is yours?
Shimming the switch further into the seat is the only thing I can think of, not sure how yours is situated, a pic might help solve this.
