Re: Captured Another One

Thanks. I like tough, old tractors that most people wouldn't want. I can get them cheap. I'm bad about not having a lot of thing working on them. As long as I can start them and use them, that is all I care about. Most of my tractors look like they don't even run. If anyone did want to steal one they probably couldn't figure out how to start it. "Pretty doesn't get the job done."

Tractors have ag tires. Construction equipment have R-4 tires. If it has turf tires it is a lawnmower.

Re: Captured Another One

I just picked up a Leyland 255 with an allied loader myself, I was very hesitant with it being an older, harder to find brand. But it is a nice tractor, and that BMC diesel runs as good as any I've seen before

Re: Captured Another One

I would rather have the older, heavier small tractors. They also have more cc's/c.i. that have more bottom end torque than the smaller, high output engines. I posted a link in another thread for a place in Canada that has most of the minor parts that I need. I don't know what he has listed for a 255.

Re: Captured Another One

It is still my main tractor. The wiring is still hanging and unhooked as it was when I bought it. I still start it with my 8" adjustable in my pocket. I charge the battery every month or 2 and keep using it.
