Honda HR215 Squeak!!!

My mower is from 1992. Mostly used as a trim mower as we had a tractor.

In recent weeks its developed an occasional loud squeak. I thought it might be the wheels and gave them all a good shot of silicone spray, no help.

While cutting today I noticed if I didn't engage the self propelled unit there was no squeak. Engaged there is. It's not constant, just occasional, one of those things that drives you crazy.

I believe the self propelled unit is sealed.

Any ideas???

Re: Honda HR215 Squeak!!!

Does it have the safety guard that hangs off the rear drive axle? If so try putting a little grease on the hangers.

Re: Honda HR215 Squeak!!!

had this mower for 20 years. the squeak is prob coming from the axel support bearings. they are low quality and wear fast on this model
