Lawn boy model id

Can anybody help me identify the model number? Are parts for it available enough to use for everyday user? Worth 100 bucks?

Re: Lawn boy model id

Looks to be a 1986 model 6430, and in my opinion well worth a 100 bucks. It's an F series pusher so the parts are still out there, maybe not through the dealer, but still available through ebay and other old Lawnboy parts dealers. I'm thinking that could be the Canadian version due to the paint being a little different than what I have seen, or maybe someone has just painted the shroud and handle grabber green, because I think, don't know for sure, but the U.S. models came with those parts black. A real good mower! Basically a commercial that was made for the residential crowd.

Thanks. I didn't speak up in time. It was already spoken for.

Was this the mower known as the "Suburban?" I thought that was the Commercial mower dolled up as a consumer model.

Yes Murph, a "Suburban". If I'm not mistaken there was a 4 square deck that they did the same with, it's color scheme more closely matched a residential mower. I think the original color for those was a dark forest green for the shroud and handle, while the deck was the traditional grabber green. I'm not sure about the wheel, but I don't think they were orange steel hubs originally.

I'm wondering if what you're describing is the "Supreme" or what we call the "School Bus" Mower -- BBC engine, Rear bag only, long unfoldable handle, about the length of a small car?

You are probably right Murph, but I was thinking there was a 4 square with a commercial dark green shroud as well that we also called a "Suburban".

Well I guess the other deal fell through. I went and picked it up this morning. Now it just needs to dry out here some.

Eta: the shroud was originally dark green on this mower. It has been repainted. I'm not sure about the handle yet. I havent got a chance to inspect it close.

Good deal! Yes, a dark green shroud would be correct for the shroud and handle. I think I mistakenly said black in an earlier post.
