Honda 5518 tire conversion

So what 5000 series tractor fan doesn’t love the “Don’s Tire Conversion”? I’d been pondering how to do one for a bit now, finally got the parts together & did it this past Saturday. I would like to have gone bigger but ideal sizes were hard to come by & I was keeping on a certain budget. Still pleased with outcome though.

Re: Honda 5518 tire conversion

Are the tires different diameters? I canít tell, the different widths are throwing me off.

Quite the look difference from factory.

It truly has much more of your typical tractor look for sure, definitely more aggressive looking. Front & rear tires are roughly 2” taller than stock. 26x12x12 on rear, 5-12 front

Re: Honda 5518 tire conversion

be careful:

if your ratio of the tires circumference is not ~1.2:1 you are going to ruin your transmission

I appreciate the heads up. I’m at exactly 1:1.21. I did a lot of research, a lot of diameter & circumference measurements. Bought & returned 2 pair of tires to get the ideal ratio, tires were listed as a certain size but when actually measured not ideal so it was a lot of trial & error. Havnt used Pi since high school.... was kind of fun figuring it all out. Again I appreciate the info
