Picked up a 42 inch deck extra tough. Probably my favorite mower out of my whole fleet. It needs some rear end work... these mowers have the ball bearing I believe in the back... I own two of the extra tough series but the one with the large deck has the stinking model tag ripped right off so I don’t know the model or the series... it has both the clutch break pedal AND the auxiliary pedal. My other extra tough model only has one pedal model 3312X6S. I have some pictures so possibly someone here can tell me more about what I have. I tried uploading a few more but the won’t go through....
Probably series 4 or 5 ,as a series 6 was the first with single pedal. The rear end is about the same on the "heavy duty" except some have 8 inions and I don't know if the "bull gear" with 8 holes is still available The fenders are different with "ball bearings" and yours could use the bearings.
Some illustrations from a series 6 XD , I think the only difference is the "brakes ' on the earlier may be a little different effecting the chain case and upper shaft.
I have this same mower in the single pedal version. I think it was built in 1988. the model number is 4112X6S on mine.
