Husqvarna 224L trimmer stalling

Hey guys, my 224L has begun stalling. I tried replacing the spark plug to no avail.

One thing I noticed while replacing the spark plug was that the air filter was soaked with gas. I'm no mechanic, but this makes me think the carborator may be leaking?

Any thoughts or ideas would be much appreciated, thanks!

Re: Husqvarna 224L trimmer stalling

I have a 223L that I found at the local dump. Tore into the carb and found the fuel inlet screen was plugged with gel. Cleaned it up and it runs great....on non-ethanol fuel.
Get a set of carb screwdrivers off of ebay so you can adjust the mixture screws and it should run like a champ again.

Thanks for your reply!

Now that I've had a chance to tear into it, I figured out that the problem is a cracked fuel line. I'm noticing that there are two different fuel lines, a clear one and a black one. The black one is cracked. Any idea what size the lines are so I can replace? Or are they all the same?

Black 5mm x 3mm (exterior diameter x interior diameter) fuel line will work on almost all string trimmer engines.
I have also used 3/32" interior diameter tygon (clear) line. Usually, the black line is the intake line and the clear line is the return line. The intake line will have the in-tank fuel filter attached.
