Drive Chain Help Dixon ZTR 308

Hi,

I have done a fairly decent search of the internet and all I can find are exploded diagrams that show parts, but no real information on what kind of chain the Dixon ZTR 308 (cone drive) uses.

I am not a chain expert so I can't tell what it is simply by looking at it. So I am looking to find out stuff like what are the chain specs, I want to replace the original drive chain (from the gearbox down to the wheel) with a longer chain, but have no clue what to order.

I am hoping there is someone on the forum who is a bit more chain savvy than myself, that can provide me with usable info that leads to a purchase of some generic chain.

Thanks in advance.

(yes I know the sprocket is not all that flash looking, but I am hoping it will see out my mowing requirements)

I received the answer via PM (look for code on chain). Thank you for looking at my problem... Problem solved.

Edit:
The chain is 08B just in case anyone is chasing one down the track.

Roller chain for the mowers is #40 if I recall. I buy boxes of it at the Farm store and cut it to length. The short internal chains can also use the same chain size. https://www.usarollerchain.com/rolle...art-s/4869.htm

Similar is not the same. Take the time to do the dimensional conversions. The #40 chain has a slightly shorter pitch which will cause problems.

I guess the million dollar question is... Do I have the right chain on there now? The chain I have on there is an 08B is that the right chain or should it be a #40?

We have run Dixon mowers for around 40 years and I have been a certified Dixon Service Tech. I run #40 chain which I buy at farm supply stores in 10 ft. rolls as said above.

I thought it was strange that it would have a British standard chain on it... So I am guessing somewhere along the line someone switched out the right chain for an 08B. Lucky I found out before I bought sprockets for the motors. (which I am having trouble finding at a reasonable price). https://www.superdroidrobots.com/sho...7mm-bore/2276/

What are you talking about, "sprockets for motors"? There are 9 tooth sprockets on the Discup Shafts. They are a little hard to find and expensive running from $15 ea. up depending on supplier. I have found cheaper ones which the description indicates they should work but haven't tried them yet as I still have a set of new OEM ones. There are roll pin and nut/key ones of these available so be sure you are getting the right ones.

One of these will be powering each wheel for drive. These are the sprockets I am talking about 17mm bore 6mm keyway being expensive. https://www.superdroidrobots.com/sho...7mm-bore/2276/

Crazy $85 USD each + postage which would probably be another $30-$50 USD
