Forest,
Nice job painting it up. If you want to start a thread on the modification I would be happy to add a few comments on the install of the plates on the bucket.-Eli

Re: What did you do to or on your John Deere today?...2.0

Our neighborhood owns about 75 acres of wooded hiking trails. I decided to go help out and mow some trails.... Had to cut up a few trees that had fallen over in places. All in all, not a bad way to spend a few hours. In the future, I need to get the chainsaw box on the 3PH so I can just lower the JB Sr. and clear some brush out of the way without having to get off the tractor.

Re: What did you do to or on your John Deere today?...2.0

Today I replaced the oil cooler and filter adapter on my Vanguard GT235, because the one it had (no idea if it was original or some repair job, I'm like the third owner) actually just cracked near where the oil sensor threads in and was leaking oil badly. Went smoothly but when I went to put the cover / heat shield back on it didn't fit at all; I held up the old cracked one (without thinking and spilled oil all over myself ) and the bolt hole for the cover is different by about an inch. I used my bench vice to just bend the heck out of the cover till it fit the new bolt hole but now I'm wondering which assembly was the actual OEM part. I thought the new one was (and it even has the Briggs and Stratton logo stamped on it), but the cover not fitting properly has me puzzled.

Anywho, no more oil leaks

I ordered a wiring harness and lift rods for the 332 off e-bay. Should be here Monday. Until then I still have to put the steering ram on and flush-n-fill the hydro fluid.

That is if it EVER stopps raining here!

Re: What did you do to or on your John Deere today?...2.0

I picked up a 47 blower today. It is barely used so I couldnít pass up the deal. It was from a 1025 so I still need the mid driveshaft and support bearing. Iíll post the 1025 shaft on CL to see if anyone wants to trade for a 4X5 shaft.

I used my 3 point hitch forks to move it once I unloaded from the truck. Sorry no pics, it was raining and I was rushing to get inside.

Re: What did you do to or on your John Deere today?...2.0

Woo Hoo! I go the steering ram on, hydro filter change and new TSC Travellers hydro fluid in the 332.

She is up and running again! BUT I had a front tire blow out. Yes a big hole not fixable. So get a new tire tomorrow and mount it since the spindles are bigger on the 332 than the 314 or 300.

And yes this is what a yard that has not been able to have been mowed looks like in the swamp of PA................

That bugger plowed right through 10"s of grass and "piles" of old grass" and just kept doing it! Much black smoke when it "bogged down" but never let me down!

Now to sharpen the blades on the 50" deck!

what on the deck? well That last time i mowed was a week ago and it was 18" high. thus the pile of grass on the deck. it will be cleaned of as soon as bring my pressure washer home fr work.

In the mean time I will just trudge on through.

I have a trac-vac but I can't mount it to the 332 yet. I'm planning on fabbing something up this weekend then I will be able to get it up. Of course since only a one yard dump box I will be dumping ever one every other round.

I wish I'd put it on my 300 and use the rear pto. Or I could make a rear shaft for the 332 and use that rear pto. It accually has a switch for an electric rear pto.
