Re: Ruegg 3 point hitch

Not sure how the MC519 connects to the tractor, but I can use my 3 bag collection system with the click n go brackets with my Ruegg 3 pt. Just have to remove the lower arms. Pull a couple of pins and you are done.

Thanks for the reply, but after looking at the way it mounts, I don't thing it will work.

Thanks
Roger

Re: Ruegg 3 point hitch

I had a Ruegg 3 point hitch on my 425. When I hooked up my MC519, I had an adapter plate that bolted to the hitch plate. When I hitched up the MC519 cart, I just removed the lower arms from the 3 point hitch and everything worked fine.

My new x729 seems to be similar. The hitch adapter for the MC519 won't clear the lower arms of the Cat 1 JD hitch. So, I'll have to remove them too. In both cases, the arms detach easily so it shouldn't be an issue. This fall will be the first for my x729, so I hope I don't run into any surprises when I hook up my MC519 for the first time.

2012 x729 - 48" & 62" decks, 3pt hitch, front fenders, air ride seat.
60D 7-Iron deck (yes, it can work on an AWS tractor)
1992 JD 425 AWS - Gone but not forgotten
42" Hydraulic Tiller
MC519 cart and Powerflow
54" blade and quick hitch
Dump scoop
'65 model 80 cart with narrow wheels

I have been going over the various grass/leaf pickup options and found that Cyclone Rake offers an adapter for their machines that allow them to be mounted to the 3PH. Perhaps it could be modified to work with the MC519?

Re: Ruegg 3 point hitch

I hook my cart up to the 3 pt hitch. With the deck down where I cut the cart is level plus there is no way it will come loose from the tractor like it will do sometimes with the original set up................KJD

Re: Ruegg 3 point hitch

Well i ordered the Cat 1 3 point hitch from Bill Ruegg today. Should be in before next week. I will keep you posted on what i come up with for mounting my MC519 cart.
Also will have to sell my Click N Go Weight Box and order some other goodies, Like maybe a Heavy Hitch and some suit case weights.

Re: Ruegg 3 point hitch

Well i finally got around to posting back on this thread.
Here are some pics of the 3 point hitch. This works awesome.
I had 60 yards of loam dropped after i raked all the roots and roots out. This area had some big pine trees with tons of roots. It took some time but the end result was nice

Re: Ruegg 3 point hitch

Bills got a great product. I told him what I was doing, and he built me a hitch for my sears suburban. Granted I used a modified original hitch plate and did mods before calling. It fits and works like OEM.. He also shipped it before he secured payment, which is something few people do.

Re: Ruegg 3 point hitch

I like the Ruegg hitch because it has less bends in the lower arms then the deere.

So how did you end up hooking up the MC519 to the 3 pt hitch? I have the same issue to consider if/when I get a 3 pt.

Re: Ruegg 3 point hitch

Sorry for the late reply, been very busy.
I found that if i just remove lower arms on my 3 pt hitch and install the pins for the arms back in the holes, my cart fits on those pins. I did find they are a little sloppy, so i will be adding a bushing to fit over the pins with the correct out side dimensions to snug it up a bit.

Re: Ruegg 3 point hitch

You were able to sort the pine roots out using only the York rake? You really did a supper job getting that all level.
