Some time ago, on other forums, tire foam was often recommended for detailing under the hood. Haven't used any in years because I read that at least most brands of tire foam are petroleum-based. I have a couple of dusty areas under the hood of my X500 that I can't reach with a rag. Is there a better way to just spray those areas from a distance where I can reach, or is tire foam safe to use on plastic and painted metal?
I love Wet N' Protect. I think it is No Touch brand. Works great but you do have to be careful on stickers and labels. On some, it will wipe the lettering away quickly.
It might also cloud clear plastics as Mother's Tire Shine will.
I have used Wet N Protect under hoods and car engines too and hoses for years.
I like super clean better for grease cutting power but it can do some funky things if you have any very clean aluminum. Most of the engines are old and ancient and greasy so it doesn't matter but you don't want to get it on motorcycle aluminum engine fins in cases. It kind of etches them because it's such a basic but still caustic cleaner.
I use the back pack blower, with an annual powerwash. :tango_face_wink: That is my tractor detailing, it seems to work just fine.:tango_face_grin:
