I have had several requests to make a video showing how I install my 54 in. Auto Connect mower deck on my X738. People have asked me if it's worth having the Auto Connect. In my opinion ABSOLUTELY! It is worth every cent.

My video is fairly short by today's standards but shows in almost real time with detailed explanation what it takes to attach the mower to the tractor. Without filming and the use of both hands I can attach the deck in about 3 minutes or less. If I didn't have the three point hitch I could attach or take off the deck in less than a minute.

Just bought a quick connect drive shaft off ebay for my x750.

Glad you found one. I just read your post from last week asking about it. Once you have it on and adjusted properly it is Awesome. Since you don’t have the 3pt hitch you won’t have to worry about the lock out pin in the back. Your mount and dismount time will be about 90 seconds. You won’t miss getting down on the ground to reach under the tractor. The only time you will need to do that is if you want to lock it in place under the tractor. When the weather changes here in Utah and I have to install the snow blower I’ll make a video of how to lock the auto connect up under the tractor. The first couple of times it was a pain but I think I have it figured out now.

I don’t know why the video only shows as a link and the proper title isn’t there but I’m going to try it again here. Sorry for posting it twice.

Unfortunately that’s what I have found with my son’s X730 vs my X738. You will find a 2WD tends to just push the deck, but backing up has worked for my son and his X730 every time. It still isn’t bad to get off and jockey the deck by hand a bit for alignment. Otherwise it’s the same as the video. Just one of the perks of having HFWD (hydraulic four wheel drive).

Great video!

I love the auto connect setup and use it all the time. I’m curious why you need to lower the three point arms to connect/disconnect the deck though? I’m able to complete either task with the 3pt locked in the upright position.

I have found on my tractor the auto connect will not line up if I don't lower the three point hitch all the way. When I lower the 3pt hitch it lines up perfectly every time. I included lowering the hitch in the video in case anyone else has a 3pt hitch and is having trouble connecting the deck.
