Used snow thrower. 38 inch/GT245

Locally I can purchase a used 38-inch snow thrower. Itís tag is a bit obscured. This is what I can make out. MO2462X071_____ the rest can not be read.
My GT245 tag reads, MOG245G132179.

Itís my understanding that some 38-inch snow thrower(s) fit the GT series above a certain serial number.

The snow thrower appears to be complete and in fair condition. The asking price is $250.
The compact size is fine for storage purposes. Of course, I understand that Iíll need to add weights and chains.

Can anyone confirm that the 38 inch snow thrower will fit the GT245 based on the information I stated above?

Thanks!

According to page 18 of the JD attachments PDF, the 38" won't work with the GT235/245's. That said, it may be able to rig up as many other throwers are backwards compatible according to the list. Just check out the parts diagrams on partscatalog.deere.com to compare what you'd possibly need to make it work.

Re: Used snow thrower. 38 inch/GT245

When I was looking for a blower for my GT245, the frame was the problem, it takes that updated, bent design whereas a lot of the older models, the mounting bracket was straight. I gave up and just bought the 42" M03252 model with the bent frame design. Anything is possible though, demonspeed is correct you probably could rig something up, I just didn't have the knowledge or skill to try so I gave up and bought the correct one. Had to drive a couple hours to get it.

With a welder and time, anything is possible, lol
