Re: Jd 165

Nope, and nope, unfortunately. The JD 165 is strictly a lawn tractor, its got a vertical-shaft engine with an electromagnetic PTO clutch sitting at the bottom of it. The PTO on the JD 130 to 185 tractors is specifically designed to be used on either the mower or the snowblower built for those tractors. If you're wanting to get into brush hogging with a tow-behind brush hogger, you're going to want a much bigger tractor. That said, there's nothing stopping you from running a 165 through some pretty significant growth to mow it down...

(I do know its disappointing, I was very sad to find out that there was no rototiller attachment for my 160.)

Yeah, unfortunately, you're in the same ballpark with the 185. Only difference with it is a higher horsepower engine, bigger optional mower and IIRC larger rear tires. For "just" mowers, tho, they're pretty beefy little machines. I've occasionally taken my 160 through some pretty overgrown stuff. The nice things are, they turn on a dime and you can get into some really tight spots with the smaller mower decks.

I love ❤️ our 165 it will go through stuff the Cub LT1018 we had would run out of power.

I have not used it in 2 years and just can’t bring myself to sell it.

The 185 was the top of the line at it’s time.
